Getting started is easy! Simply choose your country/area code, enter your phone number and provide your name.

If you have yet to become a verified user, you can verify your account by going to “Account” in the swipe navigation menu.
Enter the verification code into the space provided, press continue to verify your account.

A verified user is someone who has successfully completed the verification process, validated their phone number, and displays the verified badge in their user profile.
If a user has been verified, a verified badge will appear next to their phone number within the user profile page.
Verification is for the validation of identities on the Maaii network. By validating user IDs, we are able to help users connect to others not yet on Maaii. Verification of identity increases customer trust because it creates a higher level of confidence that a person is who they say they are.
After successfully verifying your account, the verified badge will appear within your account page.
Verified users are able to participate in selected promotions and access paid features only available with verification. Non-verified Maaii users need to complete the account verification process to unlock these features.

If none of the access codes works during verification or if you’re having trouble receiving an access code, you can choose to complete your registration via our interactive voice response (IVR) solution. During the verification process, select the “No code” button and you will receive an automated phone call with your access code.

Maaii is compatible with most Apple iOS devices running 6.0 or higher, which include iPad and iPod touch. ** iPad (1st generation) is not supported as it is unable to upgrade to iOS 6.0 or higher.
For verification purposes, you will need to use your regular cellular phone to receive the access code via SMS or the interactive voice response (IVR) solution. The access code can then be entered into the Maaii application to complete the verification process, unlocking features only available to verified users.

Android Users: Android protects users from inadvertent download and install of apps from locations other than Google Play (which is trusted). It blocks such installs until the user opts-in Unknown sources in “Settings > Security”. Users must enable the Unknown sources setting before they can install apps not downloaded from Google Play.
For international calls to landline and mobile numbers, select the “MaaiiOut” call option (a verified user account and purchase Maaii Credit are required to access this feature). While using the MaaiiOut option, ensure to start all international phone numbers with a “+” sign, followed by the country code.
If the phone number which you are trying to reach has a zero between the country code and the local code (e.g. +44 (0)1415 XXX XXX) do not dial the zero. Simply dial +441415XXXXXX

Most of the functions and features in Maaii require an active Wi-Fi or cellular connection. When Maaii operates under a roaming network connection, charges from your mobile data provider for international data roaming may apply. Yes, Maaii allows you to receive incoming calls or messages even when your Maaii application is running in the background through push notifications.
Yes. Using the MaaiiOut call option, users can dial landline and mobile numbers in countries worldwide, even if those are non-Maaii numbers! A verified Maaii user account and the purchase of Maaii Credit are required to access this feature. Maaii offers cheap calling rates as low as 1.9¢. With Maaii, you can choose to chat 1:1 or in a group with up to 20 contacts at a time using texts, photos, emoticons, video, audio and more.
Now you can send messages to friends even if they are not Maaii users or have no Internet connection. We support over 120 destinations with attractive rates. Maaii’s IM to SMS feature lets you send text messages to your friends’ mobile phones right from your Maaii app. Simply select a recipient from the contact list, compose your message like you would a regular instant message, and then hit Send. Your friend will receive your text message on their phone.

MaaiiMe is a 6-second looping video caller ID which displays to the call recipient as they receive your incoming call.

If your friends have MaaiiMe set up, you can view their MaaiiMe video by going to their profile page and clicking on the “MaaiiMe icon”.
Audio message: To send an audio message, open the multimedia share menu (“+” sign to the text bar) in an active chat and select “Audio”. Record a message by pressing and holding the center button; release the button to send your message.
Video Message: To share a video message, open the multimedia share menu and select “Video”. Choose to either record a new video by selecting “camera” or choose an existing video by selecting “gallery” (MPEG format below 16 MB).
Voice & Video Mail Messages: When you call a Maaii friend and no one answers, an option menu will appear allowing you to leave a voice or video mail. The message will be sent to your friend to hear or view later. Best of all you can send & received audio/video message even when you don’t have cell coverage (Wi-Fi required).*

To change your account password:
A notification massage and reminder e-mail will be sent to your device to remind you about the password change.
To delete your stored payment information simply login to your account and click on “Stored Payment Method” under “Manage Account”. Under the column of “Remove Credit Card?” you can choose to remove stored credit card information by pressing “Confirm” button. Any associated auto top-up instruction will be disabled according.
Credit which has past the valid period will became inactive for a short period of time before expiration. Credit which falls within the inactive period can be re-activated for an addition 30 days.

Any Maaii Credit that is purchased and remains completely unused will be refunded at your request and at Maaii’s discretion within 7 days of the purchase. A handling fee may be applied.Please see our Refund Policy for details.
Refunds of purchases on the Maaii Store should be requested from iTunes App Store or Google Play. Purchases cannot be exchanged.
Absolutely! For your protection, all credit card information submitted is encrypted on our secure servers, each complying with PCI Security Standards. We understand our users concerns about credit card security. All transaction details - including customer name and credit card numbers are encrypted using SSL (“Secure Sockets Layer”) for maximum security. In addition, payment card details are never transmitted in clear text through the Maaii Payment system.
If you are not able to log in to the Maaii Paid User Account, your account may be temporarily locked. To prevent password spoofing, the system will automatically lock a user account if the password is entered incorrectly after (5) attempts. If you think this might be the reason you cannot log in, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to have your password reset.

If you believe you’ve been double charged, first check with your credit-card provider; at times they will hold more than one transaction in pending status, especially if it took a few tries to complete the transaction.

Sometimes credit card authorizations fail because of an incorrect expiry date or a mistaken digit in a credit card number. If you’ve saved credit card information in your Account Settings, check to make sure the information is correct and then re-submits your order. If your billing information looks correct and your order still fails to authorize, contact your credit card provider for further assistance, or place your order again using a different credit card.
For security and privacy purposes, your bank cannot provide us with information on why your payment was declined. As such you will need to contact your bank directly to solve most payment issues.
Maaii’s Customer Service Team can help you with the following:
Suspending your account disables the account and the ability to use your Maaii Credit without deleting the user profile and related information. A user cannot sign into a suspended account, and paid related services are blocked. The account can be restored at any time by contacting Customer Support at email@example.com with the subject line “Re-activate my account” to re-activate your Maaii Paid User account.

No. Maaii will never share any of your payment to a 3rd party except with our bank for accounts receivable and reconciliation purposes.
Under the current update, we have included multiple new options for users to control the way they want to interact with Maaii and other users.
The “settings” page within the swipe navigation menu allows you to configure several important aspects of your application:
Voice / Video mail:
*If turned OFF, there will be no prompt to leave a voice/video mail after your call is missed or declined.
If you are having problem opening, sending or receiving photos / videos, ensure you have sufficient storage space on your device, as problems may occur due to insufficient memory.
To resolve this issue:
Go to “Settings” > Push Notification > and uncheck “New friends alert” to no longer receive alerts from newly joined friends.
Users can turn on / off friend finding by going to “Settings” > Find Friends :
*By disabling these functions, users will be unable to search for you as a contact.
Only those contacts which were added through the Maaii Find Friends method can be remove from you Maaii contact list.
To remove such contact:
Blocking someone on Maaii means you will stop receiving calls and messages from them and they won’t be able to contact you through group chat messages either.

We access your phone book to determine who in your contact list is also using Maaii. Those contacts are automatically added to your Maaii contacts list.
As with other mobile messaging and communication apps, call quality on Maaii can be affected by the stability of the data network you are connected to. We recommend using your 3G/4G network when connecting to Maaii when outdoors. For times when you are staying in a single location like your home or workplace, switching to a Wi-Fi network or hotspot will help you find more stable call connections.
