Today we’re announcing the launch of Maaii 2.0 for both our iOS and Android platforms. This new version is a total redesign featuring a fresh UI, 7 new chat and profile features, a new voice platform, and a payment portal for purchasing Maaii Credit.

It’s been a while since our last update, but we’ve been hard at work on a suite of new features and experiences which we are really excited about (version 1.5 is going to be big). While those developments are in the works, there were a number of updates we wanted to push out for users including critical bug fixes and support for several new languages (the first of many)!

So one question we’ve been getting more and more of over the last few months from users is “how can we buy Credit”? While users have a couple of ways of earning free Maaii Credit, it may take several days for Credit to make its way to you and sometimes you just need more credit - NOW.

As Maaii Android recently entered beta testing, we thought now would be great time to take a closer look at some of the powerful native functions you might have missed in Android’s Ice cream Sandwich 4.0.4 release. These features will not only make your mobile life a whole lot more convenient, but will also impact how we develop Maaii android’s future features!

It’s been a long time in coming with many requests from users, so we’re psyched to finally announce the launch of the Android Beta Test Group.   While the beta test group is going to be an invite only program, users can now request an invitation to be a part of the beta test group. Some mid-week good news on the 1.0.3 iOS Hotfix we were promising: It’s now available!   While there are no ground breaking feature developments to report in this latest release, we are happy to let you know that critical bugs that were causing app launch crashes for many users have now been resolved.

Maaii Hotfix for v.1.0.2 is on it’s way. Many of you may have recently updated your Maaii to v.1.0.2 and have experienced difficulty launching the app. Our engineers are well aware of this bug and we are just a few days away from a new software release fixing this known bug. The team@maaii.com offers our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused. Please bear with us for now and we will have the problem fixed within days.

SXSW, the annual music, film, and interactive conference and festival held in Austin TX, is almost here! We’re proud to be a part of your SXSW experience by offering free rides on our big blue Maaii bus day and night, Friday through Sunday.

Maaii free credit of US$1.90 is offered to all users on a daily basis. This allows for 100 mins of free calling to landline (and some mobile) numbers in 36 destinations worldwide. The Promotional Global Rate and corresponding destinations are published on www.maaii.com. Users can also use their Credit to call other countries not included in the Promotional Global Rate list – however calling these destinations may use free Credit more quickly. Maaii is officially available for download in the Apple App store. Hong Kong, China, Macau, Taiwan, Singapore, US, UK, Australia and Canada users – you guys get first dip!   We experienced some system downtime last night during a scheduled maintenance window, but now we are back to full speed. We also just opened up Maaii to Malaysian iOS users today and will continue to switch new markets on over the coming days as geographic coverage get more robust.
